Today we left a bit later after having a look around Broken Hill, going up Memorial Hill for a fabulous view of town. Once on the road again the countryside was back to similar to the Nullabor Plains, very barren and dry. The Barrier Highway across to Dubbo is the worst road we have travelled so far, very rough edges and a bit dicey when the semi's go passed. A lot of it is flood lands, so a bit worse for wear in places. We then turned onto the Mitchell Highway through Nyngan, in Bogan Shire on the Bogan River, to go across to Dubbo. Mick has named Nyngan his town.

We stayed 2 nights in Dubbo and spent the day at Taronga Western Plains Zoo. They run some amazing breeding programs, working together with other zoo around the world. We saw baby White Rhinoceros - only 2 months old, baby Giraffe - in the distance, 2 baby Galapogos Tortoises - 2 years old. The lions were not behaving, so there area was closed to the public, one of the girls is in season!!!
